Overview

Izan Satay, formerly known as Sate King, stands quietly in the heart of Bandar Kajang, Selangor, a satay haven tucked away at no 4, gerai UPENS, Sg Kantan. This modest spot draws locals who know that true flavor resides beyond flashy decor. The casual, even slightly worn, setting reflects a focus on the craft rather than the ambiance, inviting those who seek genuine satay experience without distractions.

The main attractions here are the satay ayam (chicken satay) and satay beef. Both are skillfully marinated, their flavors deep and balanced, delivering that classic blend of sweet, savory, and smoky notes with perfectly charred edges that add smoky intensity. Unlike more polished venues, Izan Satay accepts a bit of char — it’s part of the charm and authenticity. The peanut gravy, or 沙爹酱, accompanies these skewers with just the right texture: lush but not overpowering. It strikes a delicate harmony between sweetness and spice, enhanced by quality red chilies that keep it approachable yet flavorful.

Visitors often remark on how the chicken tastes especially tender and juicy, a testament to the care taken in preparation. The beef is equally well-received, offering a heartier option for those craving a richer bite. Portion sizes are generous enough to satisfy, and the stall maintains cleanliness and order despite its humble interiors. Parking is convenient, with a surau opposite the road, making it accessible for locals and visitors alike.

Customer experiences highlight a friendly atmosphere — the team behind Izan Satay is welcoming and attentive, adding warmth to every visit. Regulars recommend early arrival, as the satay often sells out by late evening, emphasizing its popularity and quality. This spot is not aimed at glitzy presentations but at satay enthusiasts who appreciate skillful grilling and bold, authentic flavors.

In sum, Izan Satay is a hidden culinary gem in Sg Kantan, catering primarily to local palates that appreciate tradition and depth. It’s a place where satay is elevated through patience and skill, creating a straightforward yet memorable street food experience. For anyone exploring Kajang’s renowned satay culture, Izan Satay offers a genuine and satisfying taste of Malaysia's beloved skewered delight.

The satay is delicious. The worker also very friendly. What I ate is chicken, chicken tastes so good. But their satay always sold out around 9:30pm and they start to keep the things at 10pm so gotta be early.

A hidden gem in Sg Kantan. Frequented mainly by local Kajang folk, this is the place to go for great satay without the hordes of out of town visitors. No fancy decor; in fact the eating space is pretty derelict. The focus of course is the satay and both the chicken and beef are well marinated and flavourful. Both are well grilled with some charred bits (which you won’t get in the popular places). The peanut gravy is just the right consistency with the right balance of sweetness and spice.

Was on my way to other famous satay place in the Grab. The driver said he's from Klang and this is the one I should go to, a bit off the beaten path. Did not disappoint at all. Delicious satay from friendly people handled with care.

Excellent eat-in chicken satay, They trim the burnt edges before serving. Peanut gravey was not sweet & granddaughter said stall uses quality red chilies which makes it unspicy & deliciously tasty to the palate. I got free extra bowl of peanut sauce. Beef available too. Good eats. Stall was clean when we visited that Sunday evening. Ample parking opposite surau across the road.

Nice satay, been here to take away twice. Satay kuah very nice, chicken satay is nice also. Just that the kuah and shallots they provides is not enough for me and family.
